December Reading Challenge – Here’s What We’re Reading

by | Dec 3, 2023 | 0 comments

Hello, lovely readers!

We’re back with our December’s pick for ILVN’s 2023 Reading Challenge!

It’s the last one for the year, and we’ve only got one prompt left. I’d love to know what prompts y’all are wanting for 2024 because I will be making a 2024 challenge with more prompts!

My update will be just here and on social media as we’re shifting the Book Club to a VIP perk for the Bite Me Box subscribers. That doesn’t mean, however, that I won’t be chatting about books with y’all. I love to share new books with y’all.

Anyway, back to our last Reading Challenge/Book Club pick of 2023. We’re reading Gilded Wings: A Dragon Shifter Romance by Jaymin Eve.

Check out this description:

One call changed the course of my life forever.

When my phone rings after a night drinking with my best friend, I had no idea my whole world was about to change.

“A book is missing,” a deep, unnaturally enticing voice growls down the line.

Panicked, I race out to Dragerfield Library, breaking all the rules—even if a book is missing, we’re only allowed on property during the day.

But if I don’t find that ancient tome, I’ll be fired anyway.

“You should have waited until morning, human.”

Too late to retreat, I soon learn why the rules exist. Dragerfield is a doorway between worlds. A doorway to Risest, the Faerie realm. A realm they access at night.

And I’m the moronic human who wandered uninvited into their midst.

The fae use humans for two reasons: entertainment, and well, you can use your imagination for the other.

Even worse, the voice on the line that set all of this in motion is no ordinary fae. Drager, with his dragon scales and smoky scent is one of their gods. A Fallen Five.

My new captor.

A missing book is the least of my worries now.

I’d thought I was about to be fired, but instead, I’m heading to Faerie.

And it might be a one way trip.

Gilded Wings is book one in a romantasy duet. It will be concluded in Crimson Skies, released early 2024. Tropes include dragon shifter and human romance, forced proximity, fated mates, touch her and…portal to a faerie world. This book is not a standalone and is recommended for 18+ due to language and adult situations.

Fae and dragons. Yup. I don’t think we can go wrong here. Plus, it is a beauty and the beast retelling. It checks all of my boxes.

The prompt for this one is Non-Wolf Shifter, if you hadn’t figured that one out yet. I’m ready for some angst and danger and snarky commentary. Give me all the vibes.

Let’s fill in our non-wolf shifter graphic. I am ready for this new, forced proximity, fated mates romance!

We hope you’ll be reading our book club choice this month and join us for the live book discussion on Tuesday, December 26th at 2pm CST over on our ILVN facebook page.
