Mission Mayhem & Tension on the Rise

Our Rebel Squad is deep into enemy territory, hunting for Andarna’s kind. But things spiral fast—with life-or-death battles, betrayals, and a heavy dose of “Are you kidding me?!”

🔥 Foreshadowing overload: Violet’s connection to Dunne? The silver-haired women? Chills.
🔥 Violet proving them all wrong (again): She takes down the queen AND Xaden’s opponent. Weak? Who?
🔥 That dragon egg arrogance: The greed in this world is unreal.

But then, we get to the real emotional gut punch…

Xaden’s Mother, a Contract, and A LOT of Tension

Listen, the chocolate cake deception and that outrageous contract for Xaden to have an heir with Kat? I screamed. But the way Violet and Xaden handle it? Chef’s kiss. This entire scene was tense, revealing, and completely infuriating in the best way.

And just when I thought my heart rate was slowing down…

Andarna’s Rejection & Xaden’s Brooding Spiral

They finally find the dragons they’ve been searching for… and they reject Andarna?! 😱 Apparently, she’s not peaceful enough (??). Excuse me, but do they know where she’s been?? Xaden’s reaction is rough, but I love how Ridoc challenges Violet to set firm limits for him. Their dynamic is just so good.

Then, of course, the war takes its toll…

A Devastated Town & A Brewing War

The death toll when they return from their mission? Horrific. An entire town wiped out by six wyverns. The students rally behind Violet and Xaden as their best shot at survival, and honestly? They’re absolutely right.

And then we get to the nightmares, the sage, and Xaden’s dark power pulling him toward something sinister… I have so many theories. 👀

Xaden’s Leadership & The Cliffhanger That Broke Me

Xaden finally steps down as a professor (thank the gods) and embraces his Duke status, stepping up as a leader to save his people. His fight with Holden? SO satisfying. But of course, we’re left with another cliffhanger as Xaden walks away from Violet and the school.

🚨 Predictions for the rest of the book:

• Family secrets coming to light.
• Andarna’s rejection causing MAJOR problems.
• The sage manipulating Xaden through his nightmares.
• A massive trap incoming.
• And… someone important is absolutely dying before this book ends. 😬
