The Ending Was… Predictable?
Okay, I hate to say it, but the ending felt a bit too easy. I predicted most of the final twists: Rylee’s secret gets exposed to Jax just as the romantic arc hits its peak, and the leader of the Faders turns out to be—surprise!—her sister Erin.
The emotional tension? A bit soft. Jax and Rylee declare their love before they even sleep together. It just didn’t hit with the weight I was hoping for.
Missed Potential in the Final Reveal
Rylee’s death before the goddess can judge her was a compelling beat. But who actually poisoned her? Was it Baylen or Erin?
There’s a great question raised earlier: the Fader attacks began the moment Rylee became a potential mate. Is Erin trying to save her—or sabotage her? And if so, why? Her sister becoming queen could help their people, so her motives don’t quite add up. Unless, of course, Baylen is pulling strings behind the scenes.
Spice Level? Satisfying.
To be fair, the sex scenes delivered. There’s chemistry and intimacy (even if some of the relationships feel more told than shown). The romance is hot, the concept intriguing, but overall it felt like it lost steam in the second half.
Despite a strong start, I was hoping for more depth in character development and world building. What did you think?
