Bloodline, Immersed In You by A R Dean

After an unusual needle-stick injury, Kat is catapulted into a world she thought existed only in books and horror films. Now as a vampire she must learn to control her preternatural instincts and re-assimilate into a society of humans.

Betrayed by her husband, she has no-one to turn to; no-one but Stephan, the strange man who sought her out and warned her of the changes that would occur. Then there’s Nick, an incredibly handsome vampire that teaches her the skills she will need to survive in her new world. She learns to hunt and fight; discovering some of her unique abilities along the way.

The attraction between the two of them is undeniable, but will Nick be able to protect her from the powerful vampire who had taken a sudden interest in Kat and her abilities.

Stuck in an unhappy second marriage and estranged from her only child, Nurse Katherine Armand wonders if there is more to life. After an incident in the Emergency Room, Kat finds her life changing in ways she never thought possible; with people she never believed existed. But while she may feel safe with her new ‘family’, Kat must not forget that not everyone in the underworld is prepared to protect her.

Nick Cristo has walked the earth alone for centuries. After his transformation lost him the love of his life, he has spent many lifetimes mourning what might have been. Believing he is destined to spend eternity alone, he is blindsided when asked to look after newly changed Vampire, Kat. Knowing that there are those of his kind who seek to take Kat away from him, he wastes no time in immersing himself into her life, her home and her heart. (Ryn at First Class Books)

Excerpt from Bloodline:

For so long I had been in the grip of the fever that when it finally departed my body it left me cold and shaking. I was thirsty and I craved the blood I was first given. My fever gone, I was now in restraints.

Sara brought blankets to warm me and Nicolas, as I came to know him, released my bindings, checking my skin several times a day. I was afraid. Not of Nicolas or Stephan, they kept me well fed and I trusted both completely. I was afraid of what I’d become.

My mind was still hazy and fragments of memories swam through my brain like the remnants of a dream, surreal and disconnected.  My head hurt and I strained against the pain to put it all back together, sorting through the real and the imagined. Slowly the pieces came together.

I slept, but my dreams were filled with terrors. My desire to hunt and kill for blood overpowered my human will. Had it not been for the shackles keeping me from escaping, my dreams might have become reality.

Often Nicolas would wake me from them and offer me the cool blood. It quenched my thirst but I still desired warm blood. I wanted to drink right from the throat, to feel the pulse beneath my lips. I wanted to hunt.

Eight days longer I was confined to the windowless room, but I was free to move about within. Nicolas was with me often, offering drink or reading a book to pass the time. With each passing day I grew stronger, my mind clearer, and the desire to kill for blood passed.

I remembered my life as it was before but the fever had forever changed me. I was no longer that woman. Only a small part of her remained inside of me.  Stephan had been right. I truly had been reborn.

Our interview with A.R. Dean

Tell us about your book.

Bloodline Immersed in You is a modern day, vampire, adult, romance novel.

What makes it worth reading?

Bloodline is truly different from other vampire books, starting with how the leading lady is changed. You get a healthy dose of fantasy mixed with reality. I have had several of my readers tell me how well they related to Kat and her situation. Of course there is a lot of steamy sex, but with a good plot/story line to go along with it. I am currently working on the sequel.

How long have you been writing and what inspired you to do it?

I have been writing since about the fourth grade. Reading has always been my method of escape from reality. I love a good book and wanted to write one of my own. My greatest inspiration to write has always been other authors and their ability to spin out a story with paper and ink. I did have some awesome teachers though, that encouraged me to write.

What do you think causes people’s enduring fascination with vampires?

I can't speak for others but for me it's the sex appeal. I've been in love/lust with Dracula since Bela Lugosi portrayed him on the silver screen. The very act of putting your mouth on someone's neck is very sexual and you'll find I've used this to its full advantage in the book.

What are you reading right now? Would you recommend it?

Right now I am reading Katie Ashley's “The Proposal”. Not a vampire book but a good love story and yes, I'd recommend it. Read “The Proposition” first though.

The vampires are attacking! Grab the first thing you see to your right and hit them with it! What was it? And how do you think you did in the ensuing fight?

Sorry this doesn't apply here. Vampires are the good guys in this one, although there is a bit a fight – (don't want to give any spoilers)

The afore mentioned vampire attack didn’t go so well and you were bitten by the vampire…now what?

Wait didn't I just say a couple questions back that I wanted to be bitten?

In the event of a zombie apocalypse what item would you make sure that you took with you to your underground safety bunker? (we will presume that your family are already safely in the bunker!)

My number one weapon has got to be my youngest son. He is definitely an expert on Zombie warfare. I'd also make sure I took the book “SO NOW YOU'RE A ZOMBIE, A handbook for the newly un-dead.” Just in case!

You are planning an awesome dinner party. Which 3 celebrities/fictional characters/historical figures (past or present) would you add to your guest list?

Am I eating them or serving them??? J.K. Rowling, Albert Einstein, David Gandy. Two of these are for conversation and one is the appetizer. Can you guess which?

Can you give us three, scandalous facts about yourself you wouldn’t even want your own mother to know about 😉

Too funny, my mother was scandalized when she found out I'd written “a dirty sex book” as she put it. There is nothing left to hide!

Can you give us five random facts about yourself?

I love to fish. I love working with power-tools – chain saws, nail guns, etc…. I could eat my weight in chocolate if given the chance. If you tell me I can't do something, I'll do it just to prove you wrong. I have four awesome children, age 18-28.

Where can readers find your books?

My books are available on in e book and paperback and at (on smashwords make sure to turn off the adult filter)

Is there anything you would like to say to your readers?

Writing and publishing Bloodline was a lifelong dream finally realized. I enjoyed every minute of every chapter and I hope that you enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed writing. I encourage you to get a copy today and Immerse yourself in the world of the vampire!
