(A Goddesses of The Morrigan Novel)
by Ashton Abbott

All hail the Queen of Anti-Heroes.

She has lived a thousand lives and died a thousand deaths.

She has loved and lost, killed and dominated.

But she’s never been captured… until now.

Can she hold strong against this torture?

Or will Macha the Conqueror finally be toppled?

The Morrigan, great trinity goddess, has been dismantled by the Raedan Order.

Macha, goddess of battle and sovereignty, has been captured and given over to those she has harmed in the past.

There will be no mercy, even if she did lower herself to beg.

She would rather rot.

An ancient ash tree serves as her prison… and tormentor. It forces her through her memories to relive her most gruesome deaths and greatest heartbreak.

The souls of past loved ones haunt her… along with another. One that she had thought herself rid of, but that continues to torment her just as sure as this tree sucks the very marrow from her bones.

Escape is inevitable, she knows that.

But this forced reminiscing is tearing away the stability of her ancient mind.

Can she hold strong against the darkness creeping in threatening to claim her?

Or has she been the darkness all along?

Interview with Ashton Abbott:

Q: Hi Ashton! Can you tell us a little about yourself?
AA:  Hey! My name is Ashton Abbott! I write paranormal romance and dark fantasy! I grew up in southern Missouri but currently live in southeastern Minnesota.
Q: Tell us about your publishing journey. Did you always want to be an author?
AA:  It was always my greatest (secret) dream to become an author. Growing up, I had journals upon journals filled with poetry and short stories. When I was a teenager I happened across a legend. Laurell K. Hamilton. Her Anita Blake series was my sanctuary as well as my awakening. I remember reading Circus of the Damned that first time and thinking, ‘This is it. This is what I want to do.’ One thing held me back for years. Confidence. Or, lack thereof. I had so many stories and characters in my head, started so many books… but never finished. I couldn’t seem to bridge that gap between dreaming it and living it. Until I woke up one morning and, for lack of a better term, said fuck it. I knew what I wanted, knew what I had to do to accomplish it. But, I was letting issues with confidence and self-worth stand in the way. I opened a story I had started over a year ago on my computer. There were only a handful of chapters but I knew the world I had meant to create. Six months later I published my first book, Necromancer Rising. Now here we are, five months after my first release and my fourth book is set to be published next week.
Q: Why paranormal? What drew you to the genre?
AA:  It started with vampires. Honestly, it still revolves around vampires but has significantly branched out. I have always been drawn to paranormal creatures. They are dark, mysterious, seductive… and highly dangerous. Throw in a romance plot and, viola! My version of heaven.
Q: What’s your favorite type of paranormal creature and why?

AA:  Mermaids. No, not the kind featured on Disney. (But they’re awesome too). Mermaids have so many sides to them and, like the ocean they swim in, not a lot is known about them. There are so many different angles. Some are good and save shipwrecked sailors, others lure mortals to their deaths. They have magic, superhuman strength, can communicate with sea-life. Do they guard the underwater gateways to the underworld? Do they really want to walk on land? Can they walk on land and we just don’t know it? I could go on.
Q: Where can our readers find you? (Social media, website, etc.)
