Who do you trust when betrayal threatens to destroy everything you hold dear?
When Arionna Jacobs fled town in a desperate bid to save Dace Matthews, she never expected the chaos she would leave in her wake. Now her closest friend is dead, and another is missing, forcing Ari to return to face the devastating consequences of her actions and the broken boy she left behind.
Her problems are only just beginning.
Even as her bond with Dace grows stronger, Arionna finds herself weakening when Freki's cage shatters. Fighting the wolf for control is tearing her apart piece by piece. And at every turn, she finds that those she's put her faith in aren't who they seem, bringing her face to face with Sköll and Hati. As the depth of their betrayal is revealed, Freki spirals out of control, and Arionna must face her greatest fear: losing herself to the fierce wolf within.
The world balances on the edge of a blade, and one wrong move will destroy it all.
With few allies she can trust and little choice left, Arionna must decide between the lives of her friends and her own future with the alpha she loves.
Will she be able to stand firm for the sake of the world, or will she falter in the face of defeat?

Excerpt from Flame by A.K. Morgen:
Blood rushed in my ears in a roar of sound, my heart hammering against my ribcage.
Arionna! Dace cried, sounding panicked.
Geri roared but didn't fight against Dace, trying to get to me. Surprisingly, Freki didn't try to take control of me, either. I think she was stunned, as caught off guard by the accident as me.
Was Fuki okay?
I tried to lift my head to check on them, but blood dripped into my eyes and hair, blinding me. I reached for the seatbelt, crying out when a shard of glass sliced into my arm. Biting my tongue, I kept going, fumbling for the latch.
“Ari, run,” Ronan groaned from beside me.
My fingers closed around the latch.
“Oh!” I cried out as I dropped from the seat, landing hard on my shoulder in the broken glass and twisted metal wreckage of the SUV. Inching my way toward the window, I managed to begin wriggling out, biting back cries of pain as the movements jostled me. I didn't think I was seriously injured, but every inch of my body hurt, far worse than it had earlier in the day. Blood oozed down my face from a gash over my temple. Every breath I took burned where the seatbelt had bruised my chest.
“Ari, you have to run,” Ronan said again, wheezing.
I stopped moving and glanced over at him to see blood dripping into his hair from a cut over his right eye. He looked bad, bloodied and battered. His arm was pinned between his head and the mangled roof of the SUV bent at an odd angle. A piece of glass stuck out of his side, embedded there. His dark eyes were focused on me, calm acceptance crystal clear in the depths.
“Fuki?” I called for the little wolf, my voice shaking.
Arionna, listen to him. You've got to run, Dace urged.
His fear cut like a knife inside my skull, sharp and insistent. Coupled with the look in Ronan's eyes, the emotion broke through my confusion better than anything else could have done. I didn't argue. I didn't ask any more questions. I shoved myself the rest of the way through the window, crying out when the asphalt scraped across my palm.
Grasping onto the wreckage of the Yukon, I dragged myself to my feet, fighting the urge to sink to the ground and whimper like a little girl at the blinding pain. My head swam, black spots blotting out the world around me. Someone shouted in the darkness, yelling words that didn't make sense to me. Nothing made much sense.
Run, love, Dace said again, his voice full of urgency. Please run. Hide in the woods and wait for me.
Dace, it hurts, I whimpered, stumbling away from the wreckage. I tried to listen to him, to run as he demanded, but the stabbing sensation in my temple sent a wave of nausea rolling through me.
Something's wrong, I tried to tell him, but I couldn't get the thought to fully form through the haze.
My head hurt. God, it hurt so bad.
I'm coming, love. I promise, I'm coming for you, but you need to run right now.
Relief rushed through me at his promise. I turned to run, but my legs buckled.
Strong arms went around me, catching me before I hit the ground.

Interview with A.K. Morgen:
Q: Hi A.K. Morgen! Can you tell me a little about yourself?
AKM: My name is Ayden. I live in Little Rock, Arkansas with my childhood-sweetheart-turned-husband and our furry minions. By day, I write New Adult paranormal romance/urban fantasy, and romantic suspense. At night, I'm a 911 Dispatch Supervisor. I spend my free time annoying my husband, singing every song that pops into my head, and generally causing mischief. I'm a true crime nerd, with a Master's in Criminal Justice and Law. I love mythology, ballet, and hockey.
Q: Why paranormal? What drew you to the genre?
AKM: I fell in love with the paranormal and fantasy genres when I was a little girl. At night, I would hide under the covers to read long after I should have been asleep. The ingenuity that goes into creating these unique worlds is captivating to me. I'm also a really huge mythology fan. I get so excited over that aspect of the genre. There are so many myths and legends from around the world to explore! It's fascinating to see how different authors interpret and adapt those myths.
Q: For those who are new to your books, what is the story about?
AKM: The Ragnarök Prophesies series is a modern take on the Ragnarök prophecy from Norse mythology. After Fenrir swore vengeance on the gods for chaining him in the bowels of the earth, Odin realized that he made a serious mistake. He knew he couldn't contain the giant wolf forever, so he sent his two greatest warriors, powerful shapeshifters, to stand against the threat his actions set loose upon the world.
Those warriors, Arionna and Dace, aren't who they were so long ago. They've been reborn so many times to stand against Fenrir's army that they've forgotten who they are and what they're meant to do. As they struggle to navigate their intense connection to one another and college life, the world around them rapidly changes, thrusting them into the middle of a war they aren't strong enough to fight.
With the help of a pack of gray wolves, a ragtag band of shapeshifters, and their human allies, Arionna and Dace will move mountains to save the world. But saving one another proves to be a whole lot harder than that.
Q: Tell us about your heroine. What inspired her quirks and struggles?
AKM: Arionna Jacobs is a nineteen-year-old girl who just lost her mom, moved to a brand-new town…and then met the love of her life. She's all of us, trying to navigate adulthood and love for the first time. But she gets to do it while facing an apocalypse and finding out she's a shapeshifter, too. She's compassionate to a fault, sassy, sarcastic, and fiercely independent. She isn't afraid to stand up to Dace or make tough choices. She was inspired not only by the Norse pantheon, but by the loss of my grandfather. He passed away unexpectedly right before I started writing Ari and Dace's story.
Q: Tell us about your hero. What motivates him?
AKM: Dace's history is a lot different than Arionna's. His father thought he was an abomination and spent his life trying to cure Dace of the wolf who shares his soul. As a result, Dace spent most of his life terrified of the animal inside, keeping everyone at a distance to keep them safe. He craves a human connection and feels a little like what's happening to him and Ari is his fault because he prayed so hard to find someone else like him. He's an overprotective, fiercely loyal alpha with a huge heart and an incredible mind. His primary focus is keeping Arionna safe, and he listens to no one when it comes to her.
