Liquor & Lit: F’d Up Revenge

Immortal Hotness in a Glass

F'd Up RevengeHey, fellow fans of everything paranormal!  It’s Trim and Julka coming back this week with another great drink!  If you tried Blood Flame and you’re reading this, we’re thrilled because that means you didn’t burn your house down.

Like you, we love to read a variety of different authors, and this week we are celebrating Sherrilyn Kenyon.  It didn’t take us long to decide which of her many books we wanted to create a drink for.  While most love Acheron (ack-HAIR-ohn) from her Dark Hunter series, we couldn’t resist Styxx.  Who doesn’t love tall, blond and sexy?  He may not be a God like his twin brother, but we certainly wouldn’t kick him out of bed!

Just when you thought doomsday was over, Sherrilyn takes the Dark Hunter story line to a new level in Styxx.  Centuries ago Acheron saved the human race by imprisoning an ancient evil bent on absolute destruction. Now that evil has been unleashed and it is out for revenge.

As the twin to Acheron, Styxx hasn’t always been on his brother’s side. They’ve spent more centuries going at each other’s throats than protecting their backs. Now Styxx has a chance to prove his loyalty to his brother, but only if he’s willing to trade his life and future for Acheron’s.

The Atlantean goddess of Wrath and Misery, Bethany was born to right wrongs. But it was never a task she relished.  Until now.  She owes Acheron a debt that she vows to repay, no matter what it takes. He will join their fellow gods in hell and nothing is going to stop her.  But things are never what they seem, and Acheron is no longer the last of his line. Styxx and Acheron must put aside their past and learn to trust each other or more will suffer.

styxx-sherrilyn-kenyonRight away, we knew we had to use Sweet Revenge for this book given the dynamics between Styxx and Acheron as well as the vow Bethany took to avenge her pantheon.  This liqueur is a perfect mixture of wild strawberry and citrus that results in a combination of bold flavors that your taste buds have only dreamed about.  Just like with Styxx and Bethany both, don’t be fooled by its rosy color.  Sweet Revenge is raw, bold, and sinfully delicious.  Or, if you don’t want a mixed drink then pour this over ice and sip it slow!  Revenge has never been sweeter.

We contemplated which ingredients would pair nicely to create F’d Up Revenge and, in our opinion, you can never go wrong with coconut rum.  (We are actively seeking a sponsor to support our love of all things rum. Hint, Hint, Cruzan.  And, yes, we will continue to write you every week 😉  We added pineapple and cranberry juice to the mix, yet still weren’t satisfied.  On a whim, we grabbed the can of whipped cream and BAM, F’d Up Revenge was born.

2 oz. Sweet Revenge
2 oz. Coconut Rum
1 oz. Pineapple Juice
1 oz. Cranberry Juice
Top with Whip Creme

If you try this drink and are craving more, we’ll be back next week.  In the meantime, download this heart-wrenching romance that will make you laugh and cry and want your own revenge! STYXX

We hope you have as much fun tasting this little bit of liquid loveliness as much as we did making it.  ENJOY!

XOXO,
T&J

bren tami bbqBrenda (right) is a Southern California girl and Tami (left) grew up in Georgia, but their life journeys led them both to Texas and one another. They became fast friends and now refer to one another as their BFF (Best Fucking Friend). Neither Brenda nor Tami grew up writing stories or dreaming of one day being authors, but that changed when they shared a joint dream of creating a world filled with dangerously handsome supernaturals.  Now, six books later, they have more book ideas than there are hours in the day.
