(Paranormals of Avynwood Book 10)
by USA Today Bestselling Author MIchelle Dare
Aiden’s world was rocked when he learned paranormals existed. Since then, he’d made new friends, but every encounter only emphasized how ordinary his life was.
Eighteen years was very young for a vampire. During that time, Honey hadn’t seen much. What she lacked in experience, she made up for in intelligence.
When a violent car accident happened right before Honey’s eyes, she jumped into action.
Aiden was on the brink of death. He felt himself slipping away, then someone appeared. But she didn’t rescue him. She plunged him deeper into pain and darkness.
Being made into a vampire was an excruciating experience. Once the agony receded, Aiden had to embrace his powers. He had to learn to live an entirely new life—one that was far removed from his previously mundane one.
Their relationship was forged from the choices they had to make. Their love was something they both had to fight for. What they didn’t realize was fate was testing them. They would either embrace what was right in front of them or watch as it withered away.

Excerpt from Aiden's Awakening:
When I wake next, my body doesn’t hurt as much. I don’t feel like I’ve been asleep for as long. And I can sense the power thrumming through my body. I’m about to get up and find Honey when my mouth starts to throb in pain. When I run my tongue near where it hurts, I feel them—fangs.
Panic takes hold of me. I have to get out of here but have no idea how until I remember I can probably teleport. I’ve seen others do it countless times. I know the basics. I have to picture where I want to go in my head and snap my fingers. Simple. Or so I think.
The first snap brings me to my bedroom at my parents’ house. The completely wrong place. I listen for a second, hearing nothing and thanking whoever is looking out for me that my parents aren’t nearby. I’m not focusing hard enough.
The second snap puts me on a tall mountain. Still not where I want to go but I think I’m close.
The third snap lands me on the doorstep of the Avynwood Pack House where I promptly pass out when hunger like I’ve never known takes form in crippling pain.
When I wake again, I’m looking into the eyes of Camden Raines. I don’t know him well, having only met him a few times. The male on my other side I’ve never seen before, but he’s clearly fae.
I lick my lips, careful to avoid my new fangs. “Camden?” I whisper.
I grip the front of his shirt and squeeze my eyes closed as another surge of hunger grips me. My body curls inward as I cry softly in pain.
They help me sit up, but it takes long seconds until I’m able to relax enough to open my eyes again. I find and hold Camden’s gaze, wishing he could hear what’s going on in my head. What happened to me. All the pain I’m in. How do I tell him everything quickly so he understands the magnitude of what I’m going through?
A thought hits me. I part my lips and let the proof of my newfound change show for him to see. His eyes widen as he stares at me.
“Help me,” I beg. Tears form in my eyes as another wave of hunger crashes over me.
“Hold on,” Camden says. “I’ll get you someone.” He stands and takes out his phone.
Five seconds later, that someone appears.
“Did you beckon me to help you bathe whoever this is?” Sol asks. It makes sense that Cam contacted him. He should be able to help me.
“Aiden’s a vampire,” Cam states.
“What?” Sol yells. He crouches down in front of me and lifts my chin until I meet his eyes. “You’re a mess. What happened to you?” I tap my temple as an open invitation for him to read my mind. Sol watches me as he no doubt combs through my memories. “Holy fate,” he whispers. “You’re a changed vampire. I’ve only ever seen one.”
I buckle over as pain lashes through me.

Interview with Michelle Dare:
Q: Hi, Michelle! Can you tell us a little more about yourself?
MD: My name is Michelle and I'm from eastern Pennsylvania. I'm married, have two kids, and one crazy German Shepherd who is a big child. I write romance. Everything from contemporary to new adult to suspense to paranormal and fantasy. I'm also an avid reader.
Q: Why paranormal? What drew you to the genre?
MD: I love the freedom of it. I can create a whole world with my own rules. I can make have my characters do anything I want them to. Though, if you ask them, they're the ones telling me the stories.
Q: For those who are new to your books, what is the story about?
MD: This is book ten in my Paranormals of Avynwood series. Aiden's Awakening is about a man who gets in a horrific car accident. His life starts to slip away but someone sees what happens. Honey is a vampire. In a matter of minutes, she changes Aiden's entire life and turns him into a vampire to save him. This is the story of their journey together.
Q: Tell us about your heroine. What inspired her quirks and struggles?
MD: Honey is a total introvert. She was schooled at home by her two vampire parents. She loves to read and never ventures far from her family farm in upstate New York. While she is part of the paranormal world, she hasn't met a lot of others like her. When she meets Aiden, that changes. He comes with a lot of friends including a very protective pack of wolf shifters and a powerful vampire family.
Q: Tell us about your hero. What motivates him?
MD: Aiden is in his final year in college. He's on the rowing team, gets good grades, and has paranormals as roommates. Aiden's best friend has powers gifted to him by a vampire and a mate who is a wolf shifter. Once Aiden found out paranormals were real, he realized how ordinary his life was. Never could he have imagined a drive down a snowy road would turn everything upside down and he'd meet his fated mate.
Q: Where can our readers find you? (Social media, website, etc.)
MD: On my website, https://www.michelledare.com/, I have all my books listed as well as a reading order, family trees, and other fun stuff. I'm also on Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/
Thanks so much for hanging out with us, Michelle!
