Review – Ember’s Curse
About Ember’s Curse by Gena D Lutz:
For Prime-Werewolf Ember Stilwell, life has been far from normal. Decades ago, a vengeful Witch cursed her Pack, leaving the women of her line incapable of feeling love. When an organized group of immortal killers begin to stalk and capture wolves from her pack, she sets out on a path fraught with danger. Just when it seems the world as she knows it will be changed forever, she meets Collin, an Alpha Werewolf with a body built for sin. As her heart begins to heal, she comes to find that the demons of her past are not nearly as dangerous as the nightmares she will be forced to face in her future. Can finding her true love conquer all? Or will the ability to feel for the first time be overshadowed by losing everything else she holds dear?
Werewolves, Vamps and Hybrids, OH MY! and OHHHHHH YEAH! This debut novel from Ms Lutz has some of the paranormal aspects we have all come to know and love but then she takes it to a whole new level with her vivid imagination and amazing story telling ability! Ember is a Prime Werewolf whose family was cursed by a witch many generations ago making it impossible for the women in their line to experience love until they find their “heart mate”. And if that wasn’t enough, she is also part vampire! Ember embodies everything you want in an Alpha female, she is bold and brazen, take charge and strong, courageous and loyal and has a super sense of humor dashed with enough sarcasm to make you laugh right out loud with her. She also has an amazing heart and is super protective of her friends and pack mates. That beautiful heart is thrown wide open from the first moment she lays eyes on Collin, a hot as sin Alpha male leader of the Adelphi, the ruling body of all things supernatural. The attraction is immediate, explosive and HOT HOT HOT!
Ember and Collin get very little time to explore all these new amazing feelings as they are thrown headlong into deceit, betrayal and bullets flying through the air! As if this wasn’t enough, their new bond is giving them new powers and they have no idea when or where they will appear. And I almost forgot to mention they get to meet and make a pact with an incredibly powerful King and Queen of the Lore!
Ms Lutz is an incredibly talented writer. She makes Ember’s narrative feel so real that you can imagine yourself listening to a friend over coffee retelling what’s been going on in her life! Her ability to make all of the amazing happenings seem like they are actually occurring is worth every second you take to read this book! You can “see” what is happening and feel yourself yelling at the bad guys, cringing when Ember, Collin or one of their group get hit, swooning when they are looking into each other’s eyes and fanning yourself when the loving begins!!! It will be my pleasure to read anything Ms Lutz writes and I hope there is more to come from Ember, Collin and the rest of this amazing cast of characters!
