The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are riding!

Four siblings were born from a match made between good and evil. Set on the verge of the biblical apocalypse they are all that stands between hell’s minions and the human realm. Also known as the Lords of Deliverance, can they deliver the human race from evil? Or will they ride at the head of hell’s armies?

Larissa Ione is one of the most imaginative writers. The Horsemen are no exception; her characters come right off the page and are very detailed. She paints a world around them, to which I was drawn in from the very first book and kept returning thru the fourth book (and I wanted more).

Each Horseman received his/her own book with a HEA. However, you get to see the siblings interact with each other and characters from Ms. Ione’s Demonica series. It was like seeing how old friends were doing, while meeting new friends. However, if you have not read the Demonica series do not worry you will not feel lost. Her characters are strong enough to hold their own, especially the very sexy Horsemen.

Breaking of a Horseman’s seal begins the apocalypse and turns the Horseman with the broken seal to the side of evil. Each seal is has its own weakness, each Horseman looks to biblical prophecy (angelic and demonic alike, yes there are two sacred books) to ascertain what is their particular seals weakness so they may avoid being the cause of the end of days.

What happens when just one seal is broken? Can it be repaired? Will the others break next? Will four siblings save or destroy all they have known and loved?

immortal rider

The prophecies were there but no one listened. Until now. They are the Lords of Deliverance and they have the power to usher in Doomsday… or prevent it.

Sexy, powerful and immortal, Limos is on a crash course with destiny. She's been marked as Satan's bride and her jealous fiancé wants her all to himself. The only way this Horseman can keep herself – and everyone else – safe is to keep her distance. But not even Limos can save herself from the secrets she's kept . . . or resist the seductive allure of one very brave human. Arik Wagner knows the saying ‘love hurts' better than most, yet he never thought stealing a kiss from Limos would land him in Hell. Literally. It takes all his military training to survive the demon torture, but once he's topside, Arik realises that the agony has just begun. With the Apocalypse looming and Satan demanding his bride, will Arik and Limos surrender to the desire smouldering between them? Or will giving in to their passion unleash hell on earth?

“Immortal Rider” has Horsewoman, Limos (aka Famine) getting her first real kiss from soldier Arik Wagner (First appearing in the Demonica Series).

There will be Hell to pay for the kiss!

Arik is a U.S. Army soldier assigned to the paranormal unit known as the R-XR. To survive hell, all his training is needed during his punishment for kissing Limos. When he stole the kiss he had no idea Limos had a fiancé, let alone who her fiancé was.

Limos gave in to the temptation of Arik’s lips. Now Arik is paying, being tortured in hell by her fiancé…Satan and his minions. She must save him at any cost. How high will the price be? Will she loose her heart or something much worse her humanity?

How can a woman be a Horseman of the apocalypse? In Larissa Ione’s world, she can! I adore that one of the Four Horsemen is female and not just female but a girly girl! She likes drinks with umbrellas in them, painting her toenails, cute clothes and shoes. Limos was not what I would imagine for a woman who can bring down civilization, as we know it.

Her biggest problem to overcome is…her fiancé. He is the one and only Satan. He is very possessive and several measures have been taken to ensure her “purity” for their wedding night. Which he is anxious to finally experience after waiting centuries, talk about your long engagements.

No man or demon has ever tempted Limos until Arik. While sparing, she lets that temptation go to far…one-kiss gets him dragged to hell to be tortured. Arik spends his time in hell not only being tortured but plotting revenge on Limos. Why Not? I would do the same thing in his place, being tortured in hell because of one kiss takes jealousy to a completely new level.

I did not care for Arik in the Demonica series. He seemed arrogant and as if he thought all supernatural beings should be examined, dissected and killed. He has some issues with non-humans. However, I started liking and actually respecting him for his ability to take in stride the supernatural world and embrace it as he began to fall for the immortal Horsewoman. Once Arik gets past his lust and macho military man persona he is worthy of Limos.

Limos was quite an enigma to me at first. I wondered if she was her mother’s daughter or if she could stand up for herself. Her mother being a “sexual demon” that uses her body, lies and any means necessary to get what she wants; will Limos take after her? Or will she inherit her angelic father’s traits?

Seeing her grow beyond the beach party babe was interesting. She had depth and interest. Her strength and ability to live in the moment won me over.

Being raised in Hell while her brothers were raised on Earth gave Limos some issues. She had secrets her Succubae mother made her keep. In addition, lies and deceits she told not to loose her brothers; a lot of her behavior was fear based. She could have been seen as a victim, but she chose to become a warrior.

Can she break her engagement? Will she find happiness with a man who was tortured because of her? Are her brothers going to find out her secrets?

As a series, I enjoyed the ride the four Horsemen took me on; I hope they appear in some of Ms. Ione’s future novels. It is nice to see how some of my favorite characters are doing and if they are behaving…and most importantly to make sure their seals intact!
