Review – Sanguinary by new emerging author!
Looking for the next hot vampire story? Then look no further. Check out the following review for Sanguinary from emerging author Emma L Edwards.
Would you bleed for the one you love?
Angel Harris has always had a thing about vampires, but not so much the killer that is claiming victims in the city where she lives and works. The press are calling him ‘The Vampire’, because the victims are found drained of blood, with bite marks to their necks.
Ash is the lead singer in a local rock band. Angel is drawn into his world when she is asked by her boss at the local newspaper to investigate rumours of blood drinking within Ash’s band.
Ash and Angel bond on a deep level and she finds herself welcomed into this group of supposed blood drinkers.
But the body count continues to rise and Angel will soon find out that ‘The Vampire’ is closer to her than she ever would have believed.
Sex, blood and rock n roll.
Angel is a typical young party girl and aspiring writer that has had an obsession with Vampires. She meets Ash and becomes completely entranced by a brooding, HOT as sin lead singer that held her heart in his hands from the first time their eyes locked. Ash is immediately drawn to Angel and whisks her into the local “Real Vampire” scene just as there appears to be someone murdering young women in their small town, leaving their bodies drained of blood.
Ash is obsessive dark and brooding and as much as he does not want to need and love Angel, he simply cannot help himself. When they are together, time stops and sparks fly! Emma Edwards has an awesome talent for developing characters and building scenes. Angel is a completely captivating heroine, with amazing strength of character, she is in love with broken and brooding Ash, who so wants to believe he is worthy of Angel’s love but cannot overcome all the hurt from his past to accept that he is worthy and that she WILL love him forever, not take his heart and leave it even more broken and lost. Their love is so passionate and steamy, I found my kindle smoldering and face flushed!
The only criticism is the slow start but by the time you reach Chapter 2 you are on a roller coaster ride of passion, love, need, heartache, betrayal and murder that you just will not be able to put down! The tension builds and then you are shocked to your core when the killer is revealed. My best advice is to have Book 2, Imbrued, ready as soon as you finish Sanguinary because you will find it hard to go on without more of Ash and Angel.
