Those four words changed my life.

I’m a Hunter. Nephillim. Monsters are real, And this isn’t my first life.

With more secrets than I could have ever believed, and a world so far from what I thought I knew.

Excerpt from A Crown of Blood and Bone:

I look down into his piercing bright blue eyes and I wonder how we managed to get to this point. After everything we’ve been through, to end up here, him in my arms and me praying to a God I don’t believe in, that this isn’t the end of our story.

There have been so many moments throughout history that could’ve killed either of us. Where we could’ve killed each other. But we survived it all. The rise and fall of empires. Wars of the world. The breakdown of the world we once knew.

Not once, during even one moment of our past, did I think I’d be the one hoping beyond all hope he’d survive. That he wouldn’t leave me. Especially not like this. When he’s given so much for me. Something I never would have thought possible.

I scream as I lift him onto my shoulders, his groans of pain matched by mine. I will save him if it’s the last thing I ever do.

Because a Dracul saved me. My immortal enemy. In more ways than I ever knew I needed saving.

Meet International Bestselling Author Sloane Murphy

Sloane Murphy is the author of the international bestselling series, The Immortal Chronicles, as well as a range of other paranormal and contemporary romance. Sloane lives in Peterborough, England, with her husband & fur baby and over the years, she has developed an unhealthy appreciation for cheesy YA Films, cupcakes and bad pop music. She adores fairy tales, ballet and all things supernatural, drinks far too much coffee, and watches an ungodly amount of Netflix. When she’s not busy writing, she can be found exploring the world with her husband and chocolate Labrador.

Interview with Sloane Murphy:

Q: Hi, Sloane! Tell us about your publishing journey. Did you always want to be an author?

SM:  Yes and no. I’ve always written – poetry, song lyrics, short stories etc, but I never thought it was an attainable dream. Until someone literally asked me the question of ‘Why Not?’ and I didn’t have a good answer, other than fear. So back in 2016, I jumped off the cliff and hit publish on my first novel. It was the best decision I’ve ever made, and now this is my full time ‘job’.

Q: Why paranormal? What drew you to the genre?

SM:  I’ve always loved all things paranormal. In fact, witchy tv shows were always my favourite, even as a kid. I like not having the constructs and rules of real life. It’s as much an escape for me as it is my readers. But I also love the freedom it gives me to explore different kinds of supernatural.

Q: What’s your favorite type of paranormal creature and why?

SM:  I’m not sure I can answer this! I love so many different types for so many different reasons, but I do have a deep love for the Fae. However, if it was a life or death decision, likely Fallen Angels.

Q: For those who are new to your books, what is the story about?

SM:  The Shadow Walkers Saga focuses on our female main character Remington ‘Remy’ Bennett, a young woman who has her whole life planned out, before the truth of her family history turns her world upside down. She discovers that she isn’t truly human, but is in fact a Nephillim (of angel blood), and that this isn’t her first life. She is a ‘Hunter’, cursed to be reborn, and help keep the other factions (Dracul ((vampires)), Lycans ((wolves)) and Witches) in line.

Except Remy discovers that the ‘truths’ her family are telling her aren’t the truths she knows as her memories from past lives start to come back to her, and that maybe the monsters aren’t really what they seem. That maybe the monsters are the one’s she thought were her family.

Remy pushes, and gives a lot to bring the factions together, and that requires a lot of sacrifice – but not everyone likes the idea of all factions being equal, so things aren’t always smooth sailing.

The Shadow Walkers Saga is a story of love, of overcoming prejudices because of who you are, betrayal from those closest to you, and how to get back up in the face of adversity.

It’s Charmed, meets Supernatural, meets The Vampire Diaries, and is full of twists and turns… and maybe just a little heartbreak too.

Q: Tell us about your heroine. What inspired her quirks and struggles?

SM:  Remy popped into my head back in 2018, and I can’t really say what inspired her. Her voice was very strong as was her character, so I just wrote the voice in my head.

Q: Tell us about your hero. What motivates him?

SM:  This series is Reverse Harem, so there are 4 heroes. There are Angels, Demons, Vampires & Shifters. Each is motivated by different things, but what brings them together is their love for Remy.

Q: What is a typical writing day like for you? What inspires you?

SM:  I start writing at around 5.30/6am – I get on zoom with my friends in different time zones and we write until about 8.30, then I break for breakfast. I come back and write till about 1.30, have lunch, then come back until about 5.30/6pm when I finish up for the day. Though sometimes I will just break for dinner, then come back and write until about 8/9pm. Depends if I’m behind on my deadlines. As for what inspires me, it can be all sorts. A dream, a song, an overheard conversation. But mainly, music. I can’t write without my playlists.

Q: Name a few of your favorite authors or books.

SM:  Tijan, J Bree, Sarah J Maas, Cassie James, Heather Long, Kim Holden, Holly Black, Tate James.

Q: What is your favorite part of being a published author?

SM:  That I get to do what I love. That my words can help people through struggles in their real lives.

Q: Where can our readers find you? (Social media, website, etc.)

Thanks for chatting with us, Sloane!
