We love werewolves and anime, so when you put them together to make a werewolf anime, it’s a dream come true! The only problem is that there aren’t nearly enough of them, like nowhere near enough.

A member of the Sirius royal family was chosen to be the agent of God and permitted to possess a mysterious holy relic, The Ark of Sirius. It was sealed away because of its power, and Yuliy is trying to possess it again.

Mina Tepes, Princess-Ruler of all vampires and the main character, has been hiding with her people for many years, including her werewolf protector Akira Kaburagi Regendorf. Mina wants vampires to live peacefully amongst humans, but tensions are high, and Mina Tepes and Akira need to defend The Bund from attackers.
Nozomu Tamaki is a Japanese manga artist, and Dance in the Vampire Bund is one of his more notable works. His artwork has been adapted into a 12-episode anime series by Shaft Studio.

Spice and Wolf (2008-2009)

Kraft Lawrence, a 25-year-old traveling merchant, finds a wolf-deity named Holo in his wagon. She’s over 600 years old and in the body of a human with a wolf’s tail and ears. Holo introduces herself as the town’s goddess of the harvest.
But the townspeople have been isolating her, using their own methods to increase the harvest. Hurt, Holo wants to return to her hometown in the north called Yoistu, and she also wants to travel to see how the world has changed. So, together they embark on a journey.

Cuticle Detective Inaba (2013)

Blood Lad (2013)

Staz Charlie Blood is a powerful vampire who rules the Eastern district of Demon World. According to the rumors, he’s bloodthirsty and a merciless monster. But he’s really just an otaku obsessed with Japanese culture and completely uninterested in human blood.
When Fuyumi Yanagi accidentally wanders through a portal leading into the demon world, Staz is overjoyed. But his territory is attacked, and Fuyumi is killed. She turns into a wandering ghost, and Staz vows to resurrect her.
Staz is joined by the spatial magician Bell and the half-werewolf Wolf as they try to find the magic that can bring Fuyumi back to life.

These Death Scythes are born from human hybrids who have the ability to transform into Demon Weapons, but only after they have consumed the souls of 99 evil beings and one witch’s soul. This follows the story of the Demon Weapon, Soul Eater Evans, and his wielder, Maka Albarn.
Free – or the Man with the Magic Eye – is an immortal werewolf. Again, yes, he is one of the only werewolf characters in here, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth the watch.

Legoshi, a large grey wolf, is a timid and quiet student of Cherryton Academy where he lives in a dorm with other carnivorous students. This includes his outgoing Labrador friend. Then, out of nowhere, Tem the alpaca is brutally murdered and devoured, which sets off a wave of distrust between the herbivore and carnivore students. Wolves are the next best thing after werewolves, right?

A mysterious, immortal being known as ‘the Orb’ – or Fushi – is sent down to Earth. Fushi is able to take the shape of those that leave a strong impression on it. The story follows Fushi as it travels, learning about the world and the people living in it.
One of the forms that Fushi can shift into is a wolf, which is enough to put it on this list of werewolf anime. But don’t let the slight lack of werewolves put you off, this is the highest rated anime on this list and has been praised for its emotional storytelling.
